Weightlifting = Confidence Building

A recent study has shown that those who participated in a weightlifting program were more likely to continue an exercise program on their own.  Those who continued the exercise program on their own were more likely to express that they had gained confidence from weightlifting.

While this study, and the article linked below, were based on older individuals, this benefit could be seen in anyone who desires to lose weight or be more active and healthy but feels daunted by a gym or doesn’t know where to start.  Not only can weightlifting build muscle mass, strength and confidence, it can also help achieve better “mobility, mental sharpness and metabolic health.”  A separate study showed weightlifting improved fat mass, HDL cholesterol, and blood pressure.
